Gunmen abduct Pastor?s wife, church member in Nasarawa

Unknown gunmen have abducted the wife of Samuel Nasamu, the pastor of the

Word of God Church, Agyaragu in Obi local government area of Nasarawa State, Mrs. Patience Nasamu, alongside a female member of the church who came visiting.

 

According to reports, the assailants stormed the pastor’s residence at about 8:15 pm, on Sunday, September 21, forcing the wife to let them in by firing sporadically into the air. Pastor Nasamu who confirmed the incident to newsmen, said the attackers attempted to break into the residence by smashing the windows and doors with a hammer, but could not get past the protectors. The assailants left the pastor’s three-month-old baby behind in the incident which has thrown the entire town into confusion.

 

He said the incident happened immediately after the church service when he stepped out to pray for a sick church member.

 

The cleric added that his wife could hardly calm herself to explain what was going on when she managed to call.

 

“I had just stepped out to pray for a sick member when my wife called me. All I could hear was her praying; she couldn’t even explain what was happening. By the time I rushed back, both she and our visitor had been abducted, leaving our baby behind,” he narrated.

 

He added that the matter has been reported to the Nasarawa State Police command. He stated that no word has been heard from the abductors.
