Hoodlums attack German national in Abuja

A German national was reportedly attacked by

hoodlums who snatched his phone and other belongings in Abuja. 

 

According to Daily Trust, the incident happened along IBB Way, near Maitama Primary School in the Maitama district of Abuja on Saturday, September 13, 2025.


A witness said the victim was jogging around 8 am when he was attacked.

 

Mathew Jamea, who claimed to be working in the neighbourhood, said the two hoodlums were on a motorcycle when they attacked the victim.

 

However, another visitor to the area said the victim was attacked by one person, who made away with his phone.

 

The FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, a Superintendent, confirmed that there was a report that a hoodlum had reportedly attacked a man who was jogging in the area.

 

He said the hoodlum, who she said was alone, snatched the victim’s phone.

 

She added that the incident was reported to the police and that an investigation is ongoing to track the phone

The publication reports that there have been concerns among residents regarding the growing insecurity in the nation’s capital.

 

A civil servant, Hannah Isayah, pleaded with the FCT Administration to intensify efforts to curb insecurity in the territory.

 

“The insecurity threats include those from ‘one chance’ robbers, phone and bike snatchers, armed robbers, child stealing in some of the satellite towns, among others,” she said.
