The Kogi State Police Command has arrested the girlfriend of a suspected armed robber and recovered a locally made pistol, six rounds of live ammunition and

N2.04 million.

SP Williams Ovye-Aya, the command’s spokesperson, made this known in a statement on Thursday, September 4, 2025 in Lokoja.

The 23-year-old suspect, Charity Williams, was reportedly arrested in a hotel in the Okene Local Government Area by operatives from the Okene Police Division.

This was a result of an intelligence tip-off that a suspected criminal was seen at Yuwander Lodge, which is believed to be a criminal hideout in Oguda village, Okene.

“Police immediately swung into action and raided the lodge. During a search of one of the rooms, which was booked by a man named Christopher Christopher-Kadiri, Charity Williams was arrested,” the PPRO said.

Ovye-Aya stated that during the raid, police recovered a locally made Berretta pistol, N2,047,300, six rounds of 9mm live ammunition, hard drugs, an axe, and four phones.

He added that efforts are underway to apprehend Christopher-Kadiri, who is currently at large, as the investigation continues.
